"NFL Street 2 is back and with bone crushing vengeance!"

Written by Edward Hankins
NFL Street 2 is back and with bone crushing vengeance. The sequel to the immensely popular NFL Street has taken everything successful from its predecessor, tossed in all new gameplay, characters, and moves, and cranked out this winner. To even compare NFL Street 2 to NFL Street is to downplay this game. The developers at EA-Tiburon did not just upgrade a few features, make some new moves and characters, and call it a new game. They completely revamped the game, added a whole new game play system, with new controls and moves… AND tossed in the usual updates of players and stadiums; couple this with the amazing graphics and off the wall special moves and you have yourself a guaranteed blockbuster.

NFL Street 2 is obviously not your average football game; as the name states this game more resembles a back yard pick up game than a professional football game, both in creativity of plays and jaw shattering injuries. NFL Street 2 is all about creativity or less euphemistically “hot dogging“, sure you need to score touchdowns to win, but can you juke your opponent so bad he eats grass and then stroll on in the end zone. That is just a little bit more humiliating and that is what this game is all about. The developers knew this is what made NFL Street successful and they made sure to emphasize it in the sequel. Players now have several different jukes available: you can hurdle opponents, spin off tacklers, and high step through the line. Upgraded receivers can literally jump off walls to make catches and with the new quarterbacking system allowing easier switching between receivers passing has never been easier.

Graphically this game is on the cutting edge of available technology, something EA has always been known for; but what makes this game fun is the realism. One can obviously tell the time and effort put into realistically representing players and their moves. EA used advanced motion capturing technology to make sure every side-step, every dive, and every tackle look as accurate as possible. The physics behind the game, though not accurate in every regard, make the game as entertaining as possible.

In addition, NFL Street 2 contains seven new game modes, including Crush the Carrier and Jump Ball Battles played in 10 new environments. As half the fun of these games is creating your own superstar teams you can play with hundreds of todays current NFL Stars or try your luck with an old-school NFL legend. In addition to ready to go players you can create your own player and team to take on the worlds best at their own game.

Take a little bit football, a little bit street ball, and a tad of ultimate fighting champions, throw it in the blender and you have NFL Street 2, one hell of a game that will entertain for hours. Expect this winner in stores this holiday season.
