It is the spring of 1942 and Hitler is planning his campaigns for this year�s operations on the Eastern Front. He chooses to strike south to steal the vital Soviet oil fields in an attempt to disrupt their war economy and supply himself with a limitless stock of oil. Hitler�s war machine has conquered every city they have faced in the east and know they find themselves at the gates of Stalingrad. The city named for Stalin itself, it must fall. So Hitler throws an entire Army group at the city, over 200,000 men along with supporting contingents of Hungarians, Italians, and Romanians.
The Soviets realize that they can no longer keep giving up ground and they must make a stand and General Chukov knows this stand must come in this wasteland called Stalingrad. Play they game as either the German or the Russian contingent over 36 missions and 7 hidden missions, all historically accurate. With historically accurate battle maps and over 150 battle units. Stalingrad offers the most realistic recreation of this conflict. Will Germany�s 6th Army under Field Marshall Paulus break out and link up with Hoth�s advancing panzers? Or will Paulus actually be able to turn the tide and smash the Russian resistance and destroy all hope of the Soviet Union again for 1943? Or will history repeat itself with the Russians striking down upon the German�s foreign auxiliaries and encircle the 6th army and force them into surrender?
